Kabale Airport (IATA: n/aICAO: HUKB) is an airstrip serving Kabale[1], a town in Kabale District, in Southwestern Uganda. It is one of the forty-six (46) airports in the country.[2]

Location

Kabale Airport lies approximately 311 kilometres (193 mi), by air, southwest of Entebbe International Airport, Uganda's largest civilian and military airport.[3] This location is about 5 kilometres (3.1 mi), by road, from Kabale, on the Kabale-Kisoro Road.[4] The coordinates of the airport are . Kabale Airport is situated at 1,820 metres (5,970 ft) above sea level.

Overview

Kabale Airport is a small civilian airport that serves the town of Kabale and the surrounding areas of Kabale District. As of January 2010, the airport is not under the administration of the Uganda Civil Aviation Authority.[5] The airport has a single unpaved runway, whose length is 1.5 miles (2.4 km) or 7,900 feet (2,400 m).[4]
